| Paul Clark recently hosted a reception on behalf of the Development Trust Association (DTA) at the House of Commons. But it was a reception with a
difference – MPs usually give the awards, this time it was local DTA members thanking Members of Parliament for their support.
Paul received an award from DTA member the Sunlight Centre, based in Richmond Road, Gillingham.
The Sunlight Centre nominated Paul for the work and support that he has given to the Centre. The Trust said "Paul is first and foremost a committed and
hardworking MP, he is approachable, honest and if makes commitments he will abide by them.
"Paul always makes himself available to people and is a great champion of the voluntary and community sector. He also has a great sense of humour which makes him much more
human. There is mutual trust and respect between Sunlight, the groups with which we work and Paul Clark".
Paul said "I am absolutely delighted to receive the award, but said it reflected the hard work of everyone at the Centre".
"The work, commitment and leadership of so many at the Centre just encourages me to do all that I can to help them achieve their goals – goals which are helping individuals and
families alike in north Gillingham.
"To be honoured in this way is quite humbling".

The Trust said "Paul is first and foremost a committed and hardworking MP, he is approachable, honest and if makes commitments he
will abide by them. He is truly committed to social justice and works with and advocates for some of the most vulnerable people.
"He values and demonstrably understands communities, deprivation disadvantage and actively values and supports those engaged in the process to create
positive change whether this is an elderly volunteer, an angry parent, council worker or voluntary organisation.
Paul always makes himself available to people and is a great champion of the voluntary and community sector. He also has a great sense of humour which makes him much more human.
He has consistently supported the Sunlight Trust and helped build our reputation by advocating for us at the highest levels and by opening doors for us, not just that of No.10 but a number of
others too. There is mutual trust and respect between Sunlight, the groups with which we work and Paul Clark".
