Pub Club could work in Twydall says MP

Paul Clark MP is investigating the possibility of establishing a pub club in Twydall, Gillingham as part of his Respect campaign to address anti-social behaviour.

Paul met with Kent Police, Licensing officers and a pub landlord to talk about the opportunities a pub club could bring to the area.

Paul is now looking to work with Medway Council youth officers, who could staff any youth club, and local church group, Gillingham Youth for Christ, who have also been looking into youth opportunities in the area.

Mr Clark said: "It's really important that rather than continually blaming young people for anti-social behaviour we actually look for solutions. Pub clubs are one way of doing this, and I know that in other areas of Medway the council and police have been really successful in addressing some anti-social behaviour through similar schemes."
