Gillingham Town Centre Forum

Paul attended the Gillingham Town Centre Forum to hear traders' views on plans for the redevleopment of Gillingham Town Centre.

Having met recently with the council officers in charge of the project for Medway Renaissance Partnership, Paul wanted to hear what local shop owners though about the changes and how any work would effect them.

Paul has already started sending out consultation documents to local residents with his casework letters to widen participation in the process.

He also plans to meet with Bob Dimond, Medway's 2012 Manager, to discuss plans for the Black Lion, and with those responsible for Gillingham station to discuss options for redevelopment.

Paul is also keen to see local Universities involved in the expansion of the Black Lion Leisure Centre, since students represent an increasing proportion of the local population and have untapped potential to boost the local economy.
